Lyuba Titovets was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she began her artistic journey at the age of five by taking private art lessons. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from St. Petersburg State University. During her time in St. Petersburg, she achieved several notable accomplishments, including teaching art, illustrating books, and serving as the chief designer for the theater "Mask." Her last role was as an art historian in the newly formed Department of History of Culture at St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University.
After relocating to the United States in 1992, she experienced significant success and acclaim. She received invitations to participate in both national and international juried exhibitions, along with numerous group and solo exhibitions in galleries across the U.S., which propelled her career forward. Lyuba has been honored with various awards and has held 15 solo exhibitions, in addition to many collaborative shows with her husband, Aleksander. She has illustrated several books, designed posters, and created three-dimensional artworks for various cultural events and organizations. Her artwork has been featured in publications such as “Sketch Confidential: Secrets of Master Artists,” “Desert Modern and Beyond,” and in magazines like Art of the West, American Art Collector, and Southwest Art, among others.
Lyuba’s artistic style is characterized by lyrical, symbolic, and whimsical elements that blend humor, native charm, and technical skill, offering a distinctive experience to art enthusiasts. Her name, which translates to "love" in Russian, reflects the emotions conveyed in her artwork. She expresses her hope that her paintings will provide viewers with an escape from their worries, inspire positive thoughts or dreams, or at the very least, evoke a smile. She expresses gratitude for the support she has received and for the opportunity to share her artistic vision with others.
