Southwest Landscapes by Oklahoma artist Brad Price utilize bold brush strokes and striking color to depict his love for the American Southwest. He is both a Plein Air and Alla Prima painter. He works in an expressionist style. His work is a rebirth of the sense of style of the Post-Impressionists and of the early Taos painters. His works in oil are emotive and colorful with strong directional lines that he employs to guide the viewer into the world that he has seen and experienced. His style emphasizes high contrast and bold complementary colors.
According to Price, “Art is experience and the sharing of experience. It is creating something new and beautiful for the world, then sharing it with others.”
His highly collected work has appeared in The Santa Fe Visitor’s Guide, Santa Fe Circle Magazine, Western Art Collector, and Southwest Art Magazine. He has been invited by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, to participate in Small Works/Great Wonders for four consecutive years and was selected for the Best of America NOAPS show in 2019. In 2019 one of his works was chosen for the La Fonda Hotel’s permanent collection in Santa Fe.
